🍽️ The Dopest Food — Macizo Restaurant

Peruvian. Mexican. Sourdough bread. James Beard semifinalist. Yes, all at the same restaurant. In Indianapolis.

Macizo is tucked into a strip mall near Eagle Creek Park and does not care that you almost drove past it. Owners Omar and Luz Gonza bring their actual heritage — Mexico and Peru — to every single dish, and it shows. We're talking fresh ceviche, mole enchiladas, homemade sourdough, and a house salsa macha that they put on every table because they know it's that good.

The vibe is casual and warm, like eating at the home of someone who is a significantly better cook than anyone you know. And did we mention the James Beard semifinalist part? Do yourself a favor and order the focaccia. Your tastebuds will thank you!

The Dopest Event — Indy Eleven vs. Monterey Bay FC

It's soccer season baby and Indy Eleven is back at Carroll Stadium and they need your loud, embarrassing, passionate support.

This week Indy Eleven hosts Monterey Bay FC and honestly it doesn't matter if you know what offsides means. What matters is that professional soccer in Indianapolis is genuinely fun, the atmosphere is electric when the stadium is full, and you've been meaning to go for two years now. This is your sign.

Grab your tickets, wear something blue and red, and yell like you know what's happening even when you don't. Nobody will know the difference and we promise you’ll have a good time!

🎨 The Dopest Artist — Jingo M. de la Rosa

Full disclosure: Jingo is a friend. But that's only because we have excellent taste in people.

Jingo de la Rosa is an Indianapolis-based illustrator, urban sketcher, art educator, and one of those people who makes you feel like you should be doing more with your life just by existing. Born in the Philippines, now fully Indy, Jingo has spent over 12 years building a body of work that has landed in the NBA All-Star Weekend, the Indianapolis International Airport, the Indiana State Museum, and approximately every cool creative corner of this city.

He hosts local local gathering through Indy Urban Sketchers, has been a professor at both Herron and Butler, and is somehow also a Brand Ambassador for Sakura of America. The résumé is absurd but the talent is insane.

Go look at his work at jingodlr.com and follow him on Instagram @jingoillo. Then feel inspired and maybe actually finish that creative project you've been putting off.

Indy is always up to something. So are we.
